DateNight has a roster of local babysitters looking for great families to work for. Many are University of Toronto, Ryerson and George Brown students. Some are even ECE (Early Childhood Education) students. Some are high school students. Some are Nannies. Some have been babysitting for 7+ years. Some are swimming instructors. Some have spent many summers as camp counsellors. Some have many younger siblings.

When you register with DateNight — you see a list of babysitters in your area and you invite the ones that you think are most suitable for Interviews at your house or via Skype.  Interviews are opportunities for parents and babysitters to meet and assess each other.

 At the 30 minute interview, you and the babysitter are interviewing each other at your house or via Skype.  You are not obliged to hire them — and they are not obliged to work for you.  The goal of the interview is to establish mutual trust between both parties — as employer and employee. The babysitter’s parents may request to attend the interview.  DateNight is fully in support of this — and actually thinks that it is a worthwhile practice.  We’re trying to build community connections here — the more people you know, the better.

 All babysitters on DateNight’s roster have been through an initial screening, but it’s up to parents to follow up with their references and check any of the credentials that they deem to be important. After all — you’re the best judge of who is a best fit to look after your family.

After the interview, DateNight will follow-up with both parties.  If you both approve of the match — great!  You become a client-family for that particular babysitter.  Babysitters can have 3-6 client-families.  The amount of client-families a babysitter can have is dependant on the type of membership they subscribe to.  If either party doesn’t approve of the match — no problem.  We will happily set each of you up with other client-families/babysitters to repeat the interview process.
